A Reflection

Alexandria Holiday Market

As we’re now a few weeks into our shiny new year, we wanted to take a moment to pause and reflect on the ways in which 2017 was a year of immense change for us. Sweet Crimes has grown exponentially. At the start of 2017, our products were available to purchase in farmers markets and one brick and mortar retailer (shoutout to Glen’s Garden Market for being our first). As of this post, we’re now available in Glen’s Garden Market, Uncommon Grounds, Union Kitchen Grocery, Killer ESP, The Haymaker Bar, Soapstone Market, Songbyrd Music House, Commonwealth Joe Coffee Roasters, The Java Shack and farmer’s markets all over the city!

We found countless new ways to spread Sweet Crimes edible art all over the city. We even had our fifteen seconds of fame on live TV when we were the featured dessert vendor at Metro Cooking DC’s media event!

We participated in numerous live events. We rocked out at Broccoli City, made some new friends at Emporiyum, showed our DC pride at Taste of DC, and shared our sweet treats at DC VegFest. We not only made new connections in our community, but we grew as well, going from a business of one to a business of three people strong and ever growing!
What will 2018 bring for us? We don’t know for sure, but keep an eye out as we plan to expand our online store to include dry mixes for all of our DIY-ers out there, and a subscription delivery service, for those who want their Sweet Crimes fix weekly.
