Sweet crimes nurtures the mind, body and soul of gluten-free and gluten eaters alike with delectable developments in the culinary art of gluten free baking.

We’re starting a movement- to de-stigmatize gluten free as dry and tasteless and show the world that gluten free products can be moist and delicious. We won’t settle, why should you? So, if you are gluten free, would like to be gluten free, or just want a healthier-yet-delicious cookie for pete’s sake, then look no further because gluten-free just got good.

Our Story

Our Story

Catherine (Keri) Lijinsky, founder of Sweet Crimes, grew up in Maryland and has been a “creative” baker ever since she was a kid. Her parents are world travelers and she lived overseas in many different places, including Japan as a child, and England, Switzerland, and the Philippines where she worked in public health and global development. When she discovered that she was gluten intolerant, she became aware of how difficult it was to find a baked good that she could eat and truly enjoy.

Her humanitarian spirit led her to continue to help people as a professional baker, because no one should have to compromise when it comes to delicious food.

Keri moved back to D.C. in 2013 and first began experimenting with gluten free baking when she made her mother’s wedding cake in 2014. The cake was such a hit that she continued to pour love into her recipes until she perfected the chemistry of baking with gluten free flour. Sweet crimes was incorporated in April 2016 and is a member of Mess Hall where Sweet Crimes desserts are proudly #madeindc.

The easiest way to get your hands on some Sweet Crimes

COVID-19 Delivery menu!!!

I see all of these restaurants posting about bread and the need for people to have it…but none of it is gluten-free, so we decided to take matters into our own hands! Please find below the special FREE delivery menu (this is different from our regular online store below), which we will be implementing until further notice. The process is the following: 1) email us your order, 2) we will send you an invoice, and 3) we’ll get started on your order once payment is received. Depending on the number of orders, we should be able to make deliveries within two or three days of when the order is placed. It is unlikely that we can fill orders within 24 hours. We’ll keep you posted on your order status via email!

You can also support us by purchasing GIFT CARDS! Thank you!

Standard online ordering

Delivery is not free for orders placed directly through the website. No same day orders through the website. Rush orders on cakes (24 hours or less) will be charged an additional $35.

We are focused on increasing presence in the DC area to provide desserts that everyone can enjoy. We are perfecting our treats and working hard to get them in all your favorite locations. We also respond to catering requests, so shoot us an email or give us a call for more information!
